Butterscotch Frosting Recipe

Butterscotch Frosting Ingredients

  • 2 cups light brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. light corn syrup
  • 1/4 cup shortening
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine

Butterscotch Frosting Directions

Mix well in a saucepan and bring slowly to a a full rolling boil, stirring constantly.  Boil briskly for 2 minutes.  Cool to lukewarm, then add 1 tsp. of vanilla and beat until creamy and thick enough to spread.  Makes enough butterscotch frosting for tops and sides of two 9″ layers.

Chocolate Icing for Brownies

Chocolate Icing Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp. melted butter
  • 3/4 cup confectioner’s sugar
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. water
  • 1 tsp. corn syrup
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 square melted chocolate 

 Blend until smooth enough to spread over Brownies.

Banana Icing Recipe

Banana Icing Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp. butter
  • 1/2 mashed banana
  • 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1 cup powdered sugar

Mix ingredients together and spread over Banana Cupcakes or any other cake.

Cream Cheese Frosting

Cream Cheese Frosting Ingredients

  • 8 oz. package cream cheese
  • 3 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla

Mix until smooth enough to spread.  Cream Cheese frosting is great on Carrot Cake or any cake of your choice.

Coconut Pecan Frosting Recipe

Coconut Pecan Frosting Ingredients

  • 1 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 slightly beaten egg yolks
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cup shredded coconut

Directions for Coconut Pecan Frosting

Combine milk, sugar, eggs, butter and vanilla.  Cook, stirring until thick – about 12 minutes.  Add coconut and pecans.  Cool until thick enough to spread.  Makes 2 1/2 cups of frosting.

Chocolate Frosting Recipe

Chocolate Frosting Ingredients

  • 1 pint cream
  • 3 heaping teaspoons cocoa
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Directions for Chocolate Frosting

Mix ingredients and stir well.  Put in refrigerator for several hours or overnight, whip and spread Chocolate Frosting on cake.
