Chocolate Icing for Brownies
Chocolate Icing Ingredients
- 1 Tbsp. melted butter
- 3/4 cup confectioner’s sugar
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. water
- 1 tsp. corn syrup
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 square melted chocolate
Blend until smooth enough to spread over Brownies.
Banana Icing Recipe
Banana Icing Ingredients
- 1 Tbsp. butter
- 1/2 mashed banana
- 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
- 1 cup powdered sugar
Mix ingredients together and spread over Banana Cupcakes or any other cake.
Cream Cheese Frosting
Cream Cheese Frosting Ingredients
- 8 oz. package cream cheese
- 3 1/2 cups powdered sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
Mix until smooth enough to spread. Cream Cheese frosting is great on Carrot Cake or any cake of your choice.
Apple Walnut Cake Recipe
Apple Walnut Cake Ingredients
- 4 cups chopped apples
- 2 cups sugar
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 cup chopped nuts
- 2 eggs
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 2 cups sifted flour
- 2 tsp. baking soda
Apple Walnut Cake Directions
Combine apples and sugar. Let stand. Beat eggs slightly and add oil and vanilla. Mix flour, soda, salt and cinnamon. Stir alternately with apples. Add nuts. Grease and flour flat pan. Bake for 1 hour at 350 degrees.
Banana Cupcake and Banana Icing Recipe
Banana Cupcake Ingredients
- 2 1/4 cups flour
- 1 1/4 cup sugar
- 2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 2 unbeaten eggs
- 1 1/2 cup mashed bananas
- 1 Tbsp. vanilla
Banana Icing Ingredients
- 1 Tbsp. butter
- 1/2 mashed banana
- 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
- 1 cup powdered sugar
Directions for Banana Cupcakes
Sift together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Add shortening, eggs and 1/2 cup mashed bananas. Beat for two minutes with electric mixer on medium speed. Add remaining 1 cup of bananas and vanilla and beat for one more minute. Pour in paper lined muffin pan, filling each cup at least 3/4 full. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes. Makes 1 dozen Banana Cupcakes. Allow cupcakes to cool before spreading banana icing.
Fudge Cupcake Recipe
Fudge Cupcake Ingredients
- 1 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 4 eggs
- 4 squares semi-sweet chocolate
- 1 cup margarine
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 1/2 cup chopped pecans
Fudge Cupcake Directions
Combine sugar, flour and eggs. Melt chocolate and margarine in a saucepan and stir in nuts. Combine sugar mixture, chocolate mixture and vanilla: blend, do not beat. Pour into paper lined muffin tins and bake at 325 degrees for 30 minutes. Makes two dozen Fudge Cupcakes.
Irish Cake Recipe
Irish Cake Ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 eggs
- 1 can cheery pie filling
Irish Cake Directions
Mix everything except cherry pie filling. Fold in cherry pie filling. Bake in an 8 X 10 inch pan for 1 hour at 325 degrees. Cool and cut into squares. Serve Irish Cake warm or cold and serve with ice cream or whipped cream.
Chocolate Coffee Cake Recipe
Chocolate Coffee Cake Ingredients
- 2 cups sugar
- 3/4 cup shortening
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 2 cups flour
- 1/2 cup cocoa
- 2 tsp. soda
- 1/4 cup hot coffee
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/4 tsp. salt
Chocolate Coffee Cake Directions
Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs and mix well. Add flour and buttermilk alternately, ending with the flour. Next, add cocoa and salt. Put baking soda in a cup and pour 1/4 cup of hot coffee. While it’s fizzing, pour this into creamed mixture and mix well. Add vanilla and put into 3 greased layer pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes. Cover with chocolate frosting if desired.
Pound Cake Recipe
Pound Cake Ingredients
- 2 cups butter
- 3 cups sugar
- 10 eggs
- 1 tsp. cream of tartar
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 Tbsp. vanilla
Pound Cake Directions
Cream butter and sugar. Sift flour, cream of tartar and salt together. Add 1 egg to creamed butter and sugar mixture, mix well. Continue until all ingredients have been used. Add vnilla. Place batter in large angel food cake pan. Bake at 300 degrees for 90 minutes.
Angel Food Dessert Recipe
Angel Food Dessert Ingredients
- 1 pkg. (10 1/2 oz.) marshmallows
- 1/2 cup orange juice
- 1 cup ginger ale
- 2 cup cream, whipped
- 1 large angel food cake
- 1/2 cup candied cherries, sliced
- 1 cup chopped salted nuts
Directions for Angel Food Dessert
Heat marshmallows and orange juice in double boiler until melted. Add ginger ale. Chill until partially thickened. Fold in cream. Cut cake into 1 inch cubes and fold into cream mixture. Place into 11 X 14 X 2 1/2 inch pan. Chill several hours.
